In the Footsteps of a Geologist - Dick Buffler

On Friday, November 1, 2002, the family and friends of Dick Buffler joined him to celebrate Dick's work as a geologist and a teacher, including the past 27 years at UT. Many of his former students were there to express their appreciation for the impact that Dick has made on their lives. We all joined in the laughter during the roast, as various people told anecdotes about Dick. A short field guide to Dick's career was distributed at the celebration.

While Dick is officially retiring from UT at the end of this year, we all know that this is merely a re-direction of his footsteps on a path that, we hope, will bring him back to visit us often.
