Funded by: Australian Antarctic Research Council

Karah Wertz is working on her Ph.D, studying the structural evolution of Macquarie Island. Her advisors include Sharon Mosher and Mike Coffin. Karah's work is an extension of the Macquarie Ridge project. She is currently funded through a Geology Foundation fellowship, the Laura Thomson Barrow Graduate Fellowship.

Karah is in her second field season on Macquarie Island, a small island south of New Zealand. We present here some of her e-mail letters, commenting on her experiences in the field.
