R/V Rig Seismic 124 and R/V Maurice Ewing 9513 tracks (thick white lines) and 1000 m GEBCO (Falconer and Tharp, 1981) contours on top of satellite-derived free-air gravity anomalies (Sandwell and Smith, 1997). The bathymetric ridge correlates well with the gravimetric high from the South Island to 58°S.
